This is the recipe I use. It is based on the cited source but has
been modified by me. I use mayo even though the original calls for
oil because I like mayo based dressings if they are not too thick.

Polka-Dot Slaw
adapted from
Herbs, Spices & Flavorings
by Doris Townsend
(ISBN 0-89586-192-5)
1/2 head chopped green cabbage
1/2 head chopped purple cabbage
1 C shredded carrot
4 to 5 green onions minced
1/2 c bell peppers or 2 T dried bell peppers
1/3 C oil or mayonaise
2 - 5 T milk or cream (use more with mayo)
3 T fruit or herbed vinegar
1/2 t salt
Mix cabbage, carrot, and onion.
Place remaining ingredients in
blender and blend until smooth.
Toss with veggies and serve.
